Ready to buy a lead? Here's everything you need to know about the purchase process and what happens next.


Before You Purchase

Make sure you have:

  • ✅ A payment method saved (Settings → Billing)
  • ✅ Available budget on your lead request
  • ✅ Reviewed the lead details (score, temperature, location)

How to Purchase a Lead

From Inbound Leads

  1. Go to Inbound Leads
  2. Find the lead you want to buy
  3. Click the Purchase button
  4. Confirm your purchase in the popup

Quick Purchase

For leads you're confident about:

  1. Click the Quick Purchase icon (if available)
  2. Lead is purchased immediately
  3. No confirmation popup

What Happens After Purchase

Immediate Access

Once you click Purchase:

  1. Payment is processed – Your card is charged
  2. Contact details revealed – You can now see everything
  3. Lead moves – From "Inbound" to "Purchased Leads"
  4. Seller notified – They see their lead was purchased
  5. Seller earns – They receive 97% of the lead price

Accessing Purchased Leads

Finding Your Leads

  1. Go to Purchased Leads from the menu
  2. Or DashboardPurchased Leads

Lead Details Page

Click on any purchased lead to see:

  • Full contact information
  • Lead status (for tracking)
  • Lead request it came from
  • Seller profile
  • Purchase date and price
  • Notes you've added

Managing Lead Status

Track your progress with each lead using status labels:

Status Use When
New Just purchased, not yet contacted
Contact Attempted You've tried calling/emailing
Connected You've spoken with the lead
Open Deal Discussing a project/quote
Closed-Win 🎉 Converted to customer
Closed-Lost Didn't convert
Unqualified Lead wasn't a good fit

How to Update Status

  1. Open the lead details
  2. Click the Status dropdown
  3. Select the new status
  4. Add notes if helpful

Contacting Your Leads

Best Practices

Timing:

  • Call within 5 minutes for hot leads
  • Call within 1 hour for warm leads
  • Same day for any lead

First Contact:

  • Introduce yourself
  • Reference how you got their info (they submitted an inquiry)
  • Ask about their needs
  • Offer to help

Example Script:

"Hi [Name], this is [Your Name] from [Your Business]. I understand you're looking for help with [service]. I'd love to learn more about what you need. Do you have a few minutes to chat?"

If They Don't Answer

  • Leave a voicemail

Adding Notes

  1. Open the lead
  2. Find the Notes section
  3. Add your note
  4. Click Save

Exporting Leads

Need leads in a spreadsheet?

  1. Go to Purchased Leads
  2. Click Export (if available)
  3. Choose your format (CSV, Excel)
  4. Download the file

Export includes:

  • All contact details
  • Lead request info
  • Purchase date
  • Current status

Payment Details

What You're Charged

  • Exactly the price per lead you set
  • No hidden fees or platform charges

Where Charges Appear

  • Referr Dashboard: Settings → Billing → Billing History
  • Your Bank/Card Statement: "Referr" or "Referr Leads"

Receipt

A receipt is automatically generated for each purchase. Access in Billing History.


Common Issues

Payment Failed

If your purchase doesn't go through:

  1. Check your payment method is valid
  2. Ensure sufficient funds
  3. Try a different card
  4. Contact support if issues persist

Lead Info Seems Wrong

If contact details appear invalid:

  1. Verify you've copied correctly
  2. Try both phone and email
  3. Check for typos
  4. If genuinely wrong, request a refund

Lead Already Gone

If someone else already served the lead:

  1. This can happen with popular services
  2. Speed matters—contact quickly
  3. Consider enabling Auto-Pay
