Stripe Connect Not Available in My Country

Referr uses Stripe Connect to pay sellers. If Stripe Connect isn't available in your country, this affects your ability to receive payouts.

Understanding the Issue

Why Stripe Connect?

We use Stripe Connect because it:

Handles global payments securely
Manages tax compliance
Provides reliable fund transfers
Protects both buyers and sellers

The Limitation

Stripe Connect is available in many countries, but not all. If your country isn't supported, you cannot set up a seller payout account.

Or try setting up during onboarding – the system will indicate if your country isn't supported.

What This Means for You

As a Buyer

No impact. You can still:

Create lead requests
Purchase leads
Use all buyer features
Pay via credit card

Stripe Connect restrictions only affect sellers.

As a Seller

You cannot receive payouts. This means:

Cannot withdraw earnings
Cannot be paid for leads
Selling is not practical

You can still submit leads, but you won't be able to receive payment.

Current Options

Option 1: Buyer-Only Account

If you want to buy leads:

Set your account type to "Buyer"
All buying features work normally
No Stripe Connect needed

This is fully functional regardless of country.

Option 2: Wait for Stripe Expansion

Stripe regularly adds new countries. You can:

Monitor Stripe's announcements
Check back periodically
Sign up for Stripe's country waitlist

Option 3: Use a Supported Country Account

If you have:

Business entity in a supported country
Bank account in a supported country
Legal presence elsewhere

You may be able to set up Stripe Connect through that entity. This requires legitimate business operations in that country.

⚠️ Important: Don't misrepresent your location. This violates Stripe's terms and could result in frozen funds.

The platform requires standardized payment processing for security and compliance.

We add alternative payment methods

Can I use a VPN to bypass country restrictions?

No. This violates Stripe's terms of service and could result in:

Can I still use Referr at all?

Yes! As a buyer, you can use all features. Only selling (receiving payouts) requires Stripe Connect.
