Payment Terms

The following terms (these “Payment Terms”) govern payments you make or receive through www.referr.co.uk (the “Site”), operated by Referr Ltd.
Referr Ltd processes card payments. Referr Ltd is referred hereto as “Referr” “we” or “us”.
Please read these Payment Terms carefully before making or receiving payments through the Site. By making or receiving payments through the Site, you accept and agree, on behalf of yourself or on behalf of your employer or any other entity (if applicable), to be bound and abide by these Payment Terms and our Payment Processor Provider’s terms. These Terms are supplemental to Referr’s General Terms of Service (the “Terms of Service”).
Key Terms
Capitalized terms used but not defined herein shall have the respective meanings given to them in the Terms of Service.
User Balance, or Account Balance is the aggregate amount of a User’s Revenue as a Referrer and/or returned payments from cancelled transactions as a Service Provider.
Payment Processor Provider(s) are service providers that provide payment services to Users in connection with the Referr platform, including with respect to collection of funds from Service Providers in connection with Referral payments, remittance and withdrawal of funds, currency exchange services in connection with payments and withdrawals in local currencies, and the holding of funds in connection with User Balances.
Revenue, or Commission is the money that Referrers earn from completed Referrals and can either withdraw or use to purchase on Referr, subject to these Terms.
Service Fees are the fees charged by Referr to Service Providers for successful referrals at the point of payment for a Referral and are applied as a percentage of the Referral Reward amount.
Referrers, or Sellers are users who submit Referrals on the Referr marketplace, to sell leads to Users who buy leads
Service Providers, or Buyers are users who create Service Listings on Referr, requesting Referrals from other users across the Site. These Users buy leads from Seller or Referrers.
Referrals are the formal agreements between a Service Provider and a Referrer, whereby the Referrer submits the Lead Customer’s contact information to the Service Provider, in exchange for the Referral Reward, in line with the Referral Terms
Users can be Service Providers, User who sell leads, or both. User accounts on Referr allow users to perform as both Service Providers and User who sell leads without needing separate accounts. Users also includes Lead Customers who visit the Site.
Receiving Payments
General
- Each Referral you make and successfully complete, accredits your account with a revenue equal to 96% - 100% of the Referral Reward amount. In some cases, 3-4% is deducted before the balance shows in your account balance to account for the minimum Withdrawal fee applicable. See Withdrawal Fees for more information on this.
- Referr accredits Referrers once a Referral is completed and, in most cases, this is 7 days after the completion of the Referral. See our ‘Referrals’ section in the Terms of Service for a definition of a completed Referral.
- If an order is cancelled (for any reason), the funds paid will be returned to the Service Provider’s User Balance.
- Referrers are responsible for paying any direct or indirect taxes, including any GST, VAT or income tax, which may apply to them depending on residency, location or otherwise, under provisions of their jurisdiction. Sellers represent and warrant that they comply, and will comply at all times, with their obligations under income tax provisions in their jurisdiction. The Referral Reward amount shown on the Service Listing page is inclusive of all such taxes and charges that may apply to the Sellers.
- Appointment as Limited Payment Collection Agent: Referrer hereby appoints Referr as Referrer’s limited authorized payment collection agent solely for the purpose of accepting payments (via its Payment Processor Provider, if applicable) from Service Provider, and remitting those payments to Referrer. Referrer agrees that payment from Service Provider to Referr shall be considered the same as a transaction made directly to Referrer. Service Provider’s payment obligation to Referrer will be satisfied upon receipt of payment by Referr (or its Payment Processor Provider, as applicable), and Referr (via its Payment Processor Provider, as applicable) is responsible for remitting the funds to the Referrer in the manner described in these Payment Terms. In the event that Referr (via Payment Processor Provider) does not remit any such amounts to Referrer, the Referrer will have recourse only against Referr and not the Service Provider directly. Referrer agrees that Referr may describe or otherwise reflect the terms contained herein in any terms of service, receipts, disclosures, or notices including, but not limited to, receipts provided to Service Provider’s that Referr may deem necessary or prudent.
- Referr partners with Payment Processor Providers for purposes of collecting payments from Service Providers, transferring such payments from Service Providers to Referrer, and holding funds in connection with User Balances. All payments services in connection with the withdrawal of funds on the Referr platform are performed by Referr’s Payment Processor Providers.
Withdrawing Revenues
- To withdraw your Revenue, you must have an account with at least one of Referr’s Payment Processor Providers for the withdrawal methods listed below. All funds eligible for Withdrawal will be held on your behalf at an account with Referr’s Payment Processor Provider. All payment services, including withdrawal services, will be provided by Referr’s Payment Processor Provider.
- Your Referr profile can be associated with only one account from each Referr withdrawal method. A Payment Processor Provider withdrawal account can be associated with only one Referr profile.
- Revenues are only made available for withdrawal from the Payouts page following a safety clearance period of 7 days after the Referral is marked as complete. Referr may offer, from time to time, to shorten the safety clearance period for certain User accounts. This is at Referr’s sole discretion.
- Users may withdraw their revenues using one of Referr’s withdrawal options (see Withdrawal Section below regarding payment terms). To withdraw your available revenue, you may be required to click on the designated withdrawal provider to initiate the withdrawal process. In some cases, where applicable, your revenues will automatically be withdrawn and paid out to your nominated bank account after the safety clearance period, when the Revenue amount is above £25.00 GBP, and you have setup and suitable withdrawal option.
- For security concerns, Referr may temporarily disable a User’s ability to withdraw revenue to prevent fraudulent or illicit activity. This may come as a result of security issues, improper behaviour reported by other users, or associating multiple Referr accounts to a single withdrawal provider.
- Withdrawals can only be made in the amount available to you.
- Withdrawal fees vary depending on the withdrawal method.
- Withdrawals are final and cannot be undone. We will not be able to reverse this process once it has begun.
- In certain cases, Users may withdraw Revenues in several different currencies. All currency exchange services in connection with such withdrawals are performed by Referr’s Payment Processor Providers. Your User Balance is always derived from its £GBP value and, therefore, the local currency amount of your User Balance may change daily in accordance with exchange rate fluctuations and also includes conversion fees. Users always have the option to withdraw Revenues in £GBP.
- Users will be able to withdraw their revenues from disabled accounts after a safety period of 90 days following full verification of ownership of the account in question, from the day of the last cleared payment received in their account and subject to Referr’s approval.
Withdrawal Methods
- UK Local Bank Transfer (LBT) – 3% (minimum £3) per transfer1 2. Available in the UK only.
- Other Local Bank Transfer (LBT) – 4% (minimum £4) per transfer1 2. Available in most countries worldwide. Check here to check availability in your country.

Purchasing Referral Leads
General
- Service Providers pay Referr to receive a Referral from a Referrer. Referr partners with Payment Processor Providers for purposes of collecting all payments from Service Providers, transferring such payments from Service Providers to Referrers, and holding funds in connection with User Balances. All payments services in connection with the collection of funds on the Referr platform are performed by Referr’s Payment Processor Providers.
- Referr serves as Referrer’s limited authorized payment collection agent solely for the purpose of accepting payments (via its Payment Processor Provider, if applicable) from Service Provider, and remitting those payments to Referrer. Service Provider’s payment obligation to Referrer will be satisfied upon receipt of payment by Referr (or its Payment Processor Provider, as applicable), and Referr (via its Payment Processor Provider, as applicable) is responsible for remitting the funds to the Referrer in the manner described in these Payment Terms. In the event that Referr (via Payment Services Provider) does not remit any such amounts to Referrer, the Referrer will have recourse only against Referr and not the Service Provider directly.
- In most locations, purchases on Referr can be made by using one of the following payment methods: Credit Card, Referr Credits, or existing User Balance. Additional payment methods may apply in certain locations. More information on available payment methods is made available to Users in their Referr Account Settings pages and at the point of payment on the Referr platform.
- Service fees are added at the time of purchase where you can review and accept the total amount requested to pay. These fees cover administrative fees. As of February 2021, the service fees are 20% of the Referral Reward amount. A minimum fee of £1 applies to all Referral purchases. Additional fees may apply when paying with a non-European card and where currency conversion is required, see our ‘Fees Table’ below for more information.
- Your existing User Balance may be applied to your next purchase.
- You may not offer Referrers to pay or make payment using any method other than through the Referr.co.uk site. In case you have been asked to use an alternative payment method, please report it immediately to Customer Support by emailing [email protected] or going to the help and support page in your account.
- You agree to receive invoices and/or payment receipts from Referr in electronic form as PDF documents, by email or through the Site.
- To protect against fraud, unauthorized transactions (such as money laundering), claims, or other liabilities, payment information in connection with withdrawals is collected by either Referr or Referr’s Payment Processor Providers. Payment Processor Providers may also collect such other information as necessary for the purpose of processing withdrawal payments. Referr is not exposed to the payment information provided to Payment Processor Providers, and this information is subject to the privacy policy applicable to the Payment Processor Provider. Please see our Privacy Policy for more information.
- By using any payment method and/or providing payment details for making purchases on Referr, you represent and warrant that: (a) you are legally authorized to provide such information; (b) you are legally authorized or have permission to make payments using the payment method(s); (c) if you are an employee or agent of a company or person that owns the payment method, you are authorized by that company or person to use the payment method to make payments on Referr; and (d) such actions do not violate any applicable law.
Local Currencies
- You can pay on Referr in several different currencies. Unless stated otherwise, you will be charged in the currency displayed on the payment page. All currency exchange services in connection with payments in local currencies are performed by Referr’s Payment Processor In certain cases, however, when certain currencies are not supported by certain payment methods, you will be charged in £GBP even if the price is displayed in another currency. In any event, the actual charged amount (in the actual payment currency) will be clearly disclosed to you before you complete the payment.
- Note that all prices on Referr are derived always from their original £GBP price and, therefore, non-£GBP currency prices may change daily in accordance with exchange rate fluctuations and may also include conversion fees.
- If you paid for a Referral in a currency other than £GBP and your Referral was later cancelled for any reason, the amount returned to your User Balance would be based on the exchange rate as of the date of cancellation. Therefore, the returned amount may vary from the paid amount in local currency terms, while always maintaining the same £GBP value.
- Your User Balance is always valued in £GBP, even if it is displayed in a non-£GBP currency. Therefore, should you choose to view your User Balance in any currency other than £GBP, it may change daily in accordance with exchange rate fluctuations, while always maintaining the same £GBP value.
User Credits
In certain instances, Referr may offer you credits (“User Credits” or “Credits”), either for promotional purposes or otherwise, to be used for purchasing Referrals and/or other services offered on the Site. Unless otherwise stated, Credits are redeemable only against Referr Service Fees and Service Listing Upgrades (if available to you) and cannot be used to pay for Referral Rewards, Payment Fees, currency exchange fees or any other taxes or fees. Your available Credit balance will appear in your account. Your valid Credits will be automatically applied to your next purchase and can be viewed in your order summary after you place the order. Unless stated otherwise, Credits expire following twelve months from their receipt. Credits serve only as an incentive to use Referr, and, therefore, are not redeemable for cash, have no cash value and are non-refundable. Once used, Credits may not be returned to your account even if your Referral gets cancelled. Credits may be subject to additional conditions and restrictions as will be disclosed to You upon receipt of the Credits. Credits may be voided in the event of fraud, misuse, or violation of these Terms. Referr reserves the right to modify or cancel the Credits program at any time. If you or Referr deactivate or suspend your Referr account, any unused Credits in your account will be forfeited.
Promotional Discount Codes
From time to time, we may offer you discount codes for purchasing Referrals and/or other services offered on the Site, on special discounts. Discount Codes are valid only for purchases on Referr and are subject to different time limitations and will expire after their predefined term. Unless otherwise stated, Discount Codes are redeemable only against Referr Service Fees and Service Listing Upgrades (if available to you) and cannot be used to pay for Referral Rewards, Payment Fees, currency exchange fees or any other taxes or fees. To exercise your Discount Code, simply enter the code on the checkout page. If you fail to do so, your purchase will not be eligible for the discount. Discount Codes are limited to one use per user and may not be used or combined with any other promotion. Discount Codes do not apply to User Credits. Discount Codes may be subject to additional conditions and restrictions as will be disclosed to you upon receipt of the Discount Codes. Discount Codes may be voided in the event of fraud, misuse, or violation of the Terms of Service. Referr reserves the right to modify or cancel Discount Codes at any time.
Taxes
- Referr may be required by applicable laws, to charge Users with indirect taxes (such as Sales Tax, VAT or GST) or, to withhold taxes. Any amount Referr will be required to collect will be in addition to the purchase amount and any other fees payable by the Service Provider, and any amount Referr will be required to withhold will be deducted from the Referrer’s revenue, as required by applicable laws.
- Indirect taxes are in addition to the price shown on the site, and in any event, any such taxes will always be displayed to the User before payment.
- Users are responsible for paying any direct or indirect taxes, including any GST, VAT, or income tax, which may apply to them depending on residency, location or otherwise, under provisions of their jurisdiction.

Disputes and Cancellations
We encourage our Users to try and settle conflicts amongst themselves. If for any reason this fails or if you encounter non-permitted usage on the Site, users can contact Referr’s Customer Support department for assistance.
Basics
- Referral cancellations can be requested on Referr, when eligible, by contacting Customer Support.
- Filing a transaction dispute or reversing a payment through your payment provider or your bank is a violation of these Payment Terms. Doing so may get your account temporarily or permanently disabled. Note: Once you have filed a dispute with your payment provider, the funds will be ineligible for a refund due to our obligations towards the payment provider.
- Referr, through its Payment Processor Provider, reserves the right to cancel transactions or place funds on hold for any suspected fraudulent transactions made on the Site.
- A Referral is normally only eligible for cancellation and refund at the request of the Service Provider when the Service Provider is able to accurately evidence that the Referral is in breach of the Referral Terms as set out on the Service Listing page.
- All transfer and assignment of the Leads information to the Service Provider shall be subject to full payment and the Lead Customer’s information may not be used and will be permanently deleted from the Service Provider’s account if payment is cancelled for any reason.
- If a Referral is successfully cancelled and refunded (for any reason), the funds paid will be returned to the Service Provider’s User Balance.
Order Cancellations
- Referr encourages Users to resolve service disputes mutually using Messaging.
- Eligibility for requests to Referr to cancel a Referral will be assessed by our Customer Support team based on a number of factors, including violations of the Referral Terms as set out on the Service Listing page, our Terms of Service and/or our Community Standards, general misconduct, and improper usage of the Referr platform. See below for Referral specific eligibility.
- Completed Referrals may be cancelled, upon review of our Customer Support team, up to 6 days after the Referral is marked as complete. Please be advised that Referrals cannot be partially cancelled (i.e. we can only cancel the entire Referral when it is justified).
- In rare circumstances where we find it appropriate, our Customer Support team may cancel a completed Referral even after 6 days have passed from its completion. In such cases, the amounts paid for the cancelled Referral will be returned to the Service Provider’s User Balance and will be deducted from the Referrer’s User Balance or, if there are no sufficient amounts in the Referrer’s User Balance, from future revenues of such User or charged to their primary billing method.
- Any non-permitted usage of Referr encountered during a transaction, after being reviewed by our Customer Support team, may result in the Referral being cancelled. This includes, but not limited to; harassment, unlawful behaviour, or other violations of Referr’s Terms of Service.
- Referr Customer Support will cancel orders based on, but not limited to, the following reasons:
- The Service Provider is able to accurately evidence that the Referral is in direct breach of the Referral Terms as set out on the Service Listing page.
- The Referrer submits Lead Customer information that is illegible, deliberately inaccurate, or misleading after verification and with proof. Note: Subjectivity of the information in question will be reviewed by our Customer Support team.
- The Referrer submits information about a person who is under the age of 18.
- The Referrer requests additional payments, on or off the Referr platform in relation to the transaction.
- Users who threaten to leave a damaging review to gain more services.
- Users who have been reported to use copyright/trademark infringing materials after verification and with proof.
- Referr Customer Support will review cases of Referral completion manipulation that prevents Users from contacting Customer Support that enables the transaction to be marked as complete.
Chargebacks
Referr reviews cases of payment provider chargebacks and disputes on behalf of Users. Although results vary per case due to each chargeback reason, we work hard on resolving disputes in the User’s favour. If the chargeback case allows, Referr (or one of Referr’s Payment Processor Providers) will return parts or full revenue back to Users, otherwise the chargeback amount will be borne by the User.
Refunds
Referr does not automatically refund payments made for cancelled Referrals back to your payment provider. Funds from Referral cancellations are returned to the Service Provider’s User Balance and are available for future purchases on Referr. In most cases Referr will return Service Fees to your User Balance once a Referral is cancelled.
General Terms
Stripe Recipient Agreement
We use Stripe to make payouts to Users. The Stripe Recipient Agreement applies to your receipt of such Payouts. To receive payouts from Referr, you must provide Referr with accurate and complete information about you and your business, and you authorize Referr to share it and transaction information related to your payout with Stripe.
Modifications
Referr may make changes to these Payment Terms from time to time. When these changes are made, Referr will make a new copy of the terms available on this page.
You understand and agree that if you use Referr after the date on which the Payment Terms have changed, Referr will treat your use as acceptance of the updated Payment Terms.
Disclaimer of Warranties
YOUR USE OF THE SITE, ITS CONTENT AND ANY SERVICES OR ITEMS OBTAINED THROUGH THE WEBSITE IS AT YOUR OWN RISK. THE SITE, ITS CONTENT AND ANY SERVICES OR ITEMS OBTAINED THROUGH THE WEBSITE ARE PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS, WITHOUT ANY WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. NEITHER FIVERR NOR ANY PERSON ASSOCIATED WITH REFERR MAKES ANY WARRANTY OR REPRESENTATION WITH RESPECT TO THE COMPLETENESS, SECURITY, RELIABILITY, QUALITY, ACCURACY OR AVAILABILITY OF THE SITE.
THE FOREGOING DOES NOT AFFECT ANY WARRANTIES WHICH CANNOT BE EXCLUDED OR LIMITED UNDER APPLICABLE LAW.
Limitation on Liability
IN NO EVENT WILL REFERR, ITS AFFILIATES OR THEIR LICENSORS, SERVICE PROVIDERS, EMPLOYEES, AGENTS, OFFICERS OR DIRECTORS BE LIABLE FOR DAMAGES OF ANY KIND, UNDER ANY LEGAL THEORY, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE, OR INABILITY TO USE, THE SITE, ANY WEBSITES LINKED TO IT, ANY CONTENT ON THE WEBSITE OR SUCH OTHER WEBSITES OR ANY SERVICES OR ITEMS OBTAINED THROUGH THE SITE OR SUCH OTHER WEBSITES, INCLUDING ANY DIRECT, INDIRECT, SPECIAL, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO, PERSONAL INJURY, PAIN AND SUFFERING, EMOTIONAL DISTRESS, LOSS OF REVENUE, LOSS OF PROFITS, LOSS OF BUSINESS OR ANTICIPATED SAVINGS, LOSS OF USE, LOSS OF GOODWILL, LOSS OF DATA, AND WHETHER CAUSED BY TORT (INCLUDING NEGLIGENCE), BREACH OF CONTRACT OR OTHERWISE, EVEN IF FORESEEABLE.
IN ACCEPTING LIABILITY AS THE LIMITED AUTHORIZED PAYMENT COLLECTION AGENT OF USER, REFERR AND ITS AFFILIATES ASSUME NO LIABILITY FOR ANY ACTS OR OMISSIONS OF USER.
THE FOREGOING DOES NOT AFFECT ANY LIABILITY WHICH CANNOT BE EXCLUDED OR LIMITED UNDER APPLICABLE LAW.
The term “Affiliate” referred to herein, is an entity that, directly or indirectly, controls, or is under the control of, or is under common control with Referr, where control means having more than fifty percent (50%) voting stock or other ownership interest or the majority of voting rights of such entity.
